Paradox Interactive has announced today that Magicka: Wizard Wars, the ”online competitive multiplayer game of misdirected magic”, will be entering its Open Beta phase on May 27.
Magicka: Wizard Wars features four-on-four battles using the same spell system as in previous Magicka games, whereby spells can be combined together to create various different effects. It’s kind of MOBA-like, but much, much simpler to get the hang of.
You can sign up for Wizard Wars free on the official website here, though if you fancy decking your wizard in some fancy gear, there’s various starter packs already available for purchase, costing between £8.99 and £44.99. You can get hold of those via Steam Early Access. Boy, all these different stages of game development sure do get confusing.
