EA and Respawn Entertainment are now taking registrations for the Titanfall closed beta, which is scheduled to begin this Friday, February 14th. It’s a ”large-scale event” for PC and Xbox One gamers.
Three game modes are included in the beta test, which includes team deathmatch, base capturing and a last-man-standing, but with a Titan. The game is out early March.
Titanfall’s multiplayer is limited to 6 vs. 6, but that doesn’t include AI controlled soldiers or Titans following their pilots. Respawn believe this limit is a ‘sweet spot’ for fun.
The three game modes are Attrition, Hardpoint Domination and Last Titan Standing. Beta registration is now open.
”In Attrition, teams win by eliminating anyone or anything on the opposing side – pilots, titans and AI soldiers. In Hardpoint Domination, teams will capture and hold three hardpoints throughout the map to earn points and secure victory. And in Last Titan Standing, everyone on both teams starts with a titan in a round-based mode that ends when one team has lost all of their titans. There’s no respawning and no replacement titans can be called down.”
Titanfall releases on PC and Xbox One March 11th in the US, 14th in EU, and on Xbox 360 March 25th/28th.
