Firefly Studios’ medieval home invasion simulator Stronghold Crusader 2 has already entered its closed beta stage, and it’s not too far away from a general release.
Now the development team has revealed the system requirements budding castellans will need in order to play the game when it drops this September. Here’s the minimum specs you’ll need to match up to:
Operating System: Windows® XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 (latest service packs) with DirectX 9.0c
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo 2Ghz or equivalent
Memory: 2GB RAM
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GT 512MB or AMD Radeon™ HD 2900XT 512MB or better
Storage: 6 GB available HD space
Internet: Broadband Internet connection
Slightly more than I’d have expected, actually, but not too prohibitive. Firefly say they’re dedicating the rest of the development cycle up to the game’s release on bug-squashing and improving general performance. Despite the shift from 2D to an all-new 3D engine, the team hope to avoid too many launch issues.
”Naturally a concern for players at the time (of announcement) was ‘Will the game run on my machine?’”, reads a post on the official SC2 website. ”This is a fair question and of course we are aiming to get the game running on a wide range of systems, performance being just as high on our list of priorities as bug fixing. With the game currently in beta and as such feature-complete, we have already had time to focus on optimisation and performance testing.”
Stronghold Crusader 2 is set for a September 2 release in digital and physical retail stores.
