Amplitude Studios will release the latest entry in its Endless universe this month, with rogue-like dungeon defense game Dungeon of the Endless coming to Steam on October 27.
The game’s been on Early Access since December 2013, but the complete version adds several new features including more difficulty levels, score tracking and co-op multiplayer.
Right, so a brief history lesson; Dungeon of the Endless takes place centuries before the events of Amplitude’s other titles set in the same universe, Endless Legend and Endless Space. You guide a group of crash-landed human survivors through an ancient alien structure to the surface of the mysterious planet Auriga. These survivors mild SPOILERS I guess will eventually become the ‘Vaulters’ faction of Endless Legend. Should you not get them all killed, of course.
As well as adding a final level to the dungeon, the complete version of Dungeon of the Endless adds the Journal and the Album. The Journal tracks your scores, while the Album tracks your story progress and collates hints and secrets for each dungeon level. Characters’ back-stories have been elaborated on, with new content that ”offers overlapping and even intimate relationships between characters that are always fun and often surprising.”
To round things off, you can now enjoy four player co-op multiplayer. Dungeon of the Endless is currently available on Steam with a 10% discount.
