To combat this prudent Wardenship, prisoners are now able to come with reputations. These can throw a spanner in the works, and even mean we’ll deal with ‘legendary’ criminals.
For example, a prisoner could easily be subdued by the presence of armed guards on patrol. Now certain prisoners may carry a fearless reputation, so they don’t care.
Others might have been deadly street fighters, or have special combat training. Not all reputations are necessarily to the prisoner’s benefit like those who were former cops, which places their lives in danger and our prisons at risk of suffering too many deaths. We can even land up with a very rare ‘legendary’ prisoner, who could stir the pot.
Taking care of all your prisoners needs isn’t the sure fire way to have a peaceful and even productive prison anymore, and that’s what Introversion want. Mid-game doesn’t become an automatic breeze, but starting out doesn’t become a chaotic mess as a consequence. These reputations have a percentage chance of generating and also depend on the type of prisoner. We decide if our prison is open to what kinds of criminals so we can control the pace.
We also get a new ‘Protective Custody’ category for prisoners, helping us segregate prisoners vulnerable to attack.
