Dark Souls 2 developer From Software has reportedly been purchased by major Japanese publisher Kadokawa Games. Gamebiz are reporting that Kadokawa will acquire 80% of the company.
Siliconera have kindly translated the Japanese website’s post into English, and the translation suggests that From Software will now work with Kadokawa on producing their games, rather than acting as the independent company that they were previously.
From Software CEO Naotoshi Zin discussed the deal briefly with Famitsu, saying the arrangement will make it easier for the company to develop their games. “With a new system, from this point on, I believe we’ll be able to make newer and more in depth games,” he said.
