Given how little we’ve seen from Telltale Games’ highly anticipated Game of Thrones adaptation, many had begun to question whether the fantasy adventure would actually make it out this year as planned.
Not to worry. According to a tweet from the developer’s community specialist Laura Perusco, we’re still on course for a 2014 release.
“No specific release date announced yet,” wrote Perusco in response to a fan query, “but I can confirm that the season IS premiering later this year.” That’s slightly surprising considering we’ve only seen brief teasers and absolutely no in-game footage as yet, but then again you’d imagine that once the writing’s been done, Telltale’s brand of story-based adventuring is less technically complex to develop than most other genres.
Whatever the case, we’ll keep an eager eye out for any further confirmation from the developer. Judging from the teasers we’ve seen so far, Game of Thrones looks set to feature House Forrester, a minor house beholden to the famous Starks of Winterfell.
