Everyone’s favourite band of flaying enthusiasts, the noble House Bolton, will probably be making an appearance in Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones adaptation.
That’s if the latest teaser for the much-anticipated adventure title is to be believed. It reads; “There’s Squids in the Wolfswood, and Flayed Men ride the Kingsroad…”
Those aren’t literal squids, of course, but soldiers of the Viking-esque House Greyjoy, whose house sigil is the kraken. The Flayed Men are of course soldiers of House Bolton, whose own sigil is a flayed man. They like skinning people, have I mentioned that? In the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, which isn’t short of utter bastards at the best of times, both the Greyjoys and the Boltons make a solid case for being the people you’d least like to bump into in a dark forest.
Without wanting to give too much away, both Houses become major players in the civil war which erupts throughout Westeros. The quote above is taken from third book in the series, A Storm of Swords, which marks the point at which the bad stuff really starts to go down. Might that be the setting for Telltale’s Game of Thrones? Either Boltons or Greyjoys would make for great villains, but judging by the prominent Bolton sigil I’d say they’re the most likely to make an appearance.
The first episode of Game of Thrones is still set to come out this year, according to Telltale.
