It won’t be too long before we start to see gameplay footage of DICE’s highly anticipated shooter Star Wars: Battlefront - the game’s apparently already being shown off to EA’s retail partners.
Tweeting from a private event held in Texas yesterday, the company’s CCO Peter Moore said there had been ”superb ovation for latest game play footage on @starwars Battlefront.”
All we’ve seen from the game so far is a few early development shots and a couple of cinematic teasers, but given that the game’s set to launch this Winter, we’re approaching the point where gameplay footage and key information should begin to surface.
Star Wars: Battlefront is being developed by Battlefield creators DICE. Mass combat in the classic Star Wars style (ewoks and ATATs confirmed) is inevitable, but what else might we see from the game? A full-length solo campaign, perhaps?
DICE has already been talking about ”specifically tailoring” certain maps to certain modes, thus creating lots of variety in the game’s multiplayer - zooming across the empty snow of Hoth on a landspeeder is going to feel very different from fighting amongst the thick forests of Endor, after all.
