Capcom has released five minutes of gameplay footage from its recently announced multiplayer shooter spin-off, Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps, narrated as an eSports event and played by members of the development team.
I’m trying to start by being positive about this, so here goes; I sort of like the way the teams are fighting it out in amongst a bunch of shambling zombies, who occasionally much on unsuspecting players.
But really, some of that animation work looks awfully clunky. Zombies wander about in mid-air, and when they’re crouching, soldiers zip around weirdly like human-crab hybrids.
The game’s set for release early next year. Maybe it will be good, but what I’ve seen so far isn’t exactly filling me with confidence.
