Work on fan-made Morrowind-into-Skyrim mod Skywind continues apace, and the team behind the ambitious project have just released a new trailer showing off one of the regions players will be able to hunt mudcrabs in.
The region in question is the island chain of Sheogorad, which looks a bit… brown. That’s okay though! It fits in perfectly with Morrowind’s grimy, ash-strewn aesthetic.
I spent many hours wandering around the coasts of Sheogorad during my period of obsession with Bethesda’s open world RPG. It’s not the prettiest area in the game, but it showcases Morrowind’s defiantly anti-typical fantasy style pretty well. The mod team behind this recreation have added a little extra polish and a few new assets to really bring it to life.
“We wanted to give this region new assets to help it stand out from other areas of Morrowind,” they write, “and in turn, have changed it’s original formations. As always, remember that this is early footage. Be sure to leave comments below! Enjoy!”
Obviously with a voluntary project as ambitious this there’s no telling when we might be able to get our hands on Skywind, but it’s encouraging to see the team continue to release some impressive in-game footage. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to see what they’ve come up with soon. In the meantime, you can keep your eye on the project here.
