Bioware has added a couple of new features to Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer, one for veteran players and one for those who might not have given it a go yet.
First up is the Proving Grounds, which is basically a tutorial environment with a reduced difficulty level and a bunch of AI teammates to help you out. It’s a guided experience designed to introduce players to the basics of co-op monster slaying.
On the other end of the spectrum is Nightmare difficulty, an ”even more intense” mode that ramps up the number of enemies, and increases their stats. ”Players have been asking for a bigger multiplayer challenge,” says Bioware, ”so we’ve created Nightmare difficulty, a step up from Perilous in every way. We’ve also introduced a number of new and rare high-level weapons, some from the Avvar clans.”
Update 8, available now, also contains a number of other minor bug fixes and tweaks, all of which are listed in the full patch notes here.
