Blizzard pulled a ballsy move when they decided that they’re release date for the final chapter of StarCraft 2 was going to fall on the same day as Fallout 4, but it would appear that the company’s faith in their product is deserved. The game passed over one million units sold in its first 48 hours.
The announcement was made via the official StarCraft Twitter earlier today, boasting the impressive sales alongside a rather splendid GIF. Legacy of the Void has been a long awaited and anticipated next step in the series in both multiplayer and single player circles.
Thanks for making the launch of #LotV a success! We’ll see you in the Koprulu Sector, Commanders! pic.twitter.com/mqye4JEOdp

Even as this will seemingly mark the end of the continuing story line in StarCraft II, there are already plans in place for post DLC content, the first round of which will feature single player missions starring the current lead Ghost of the game, Nova. The first three of these coming missions are supposed to drop somewhere in the middle of next year with six more coming soon after.
All-in-all, the home stretch to the finish line has turned out fine for StarCraft II, Blizzard, and their fans. Congratulations.
