The official Developer Tools for Dying Light have now been released by Techland, and they’ve also posted an official trailer. Modders can now start really getting into the zombie sandbox.
It allows for custom stories, crazy scenarios and even brand-new maps. Everything created can be shared through the Steam Workshop. A six-part video guide is being released by Techland to help creators.
”All PC players can now take on the role of game designers and build their own quarantine zones. The Dying Light Developer Tools allow for the creation of brand-new maps, custom stories, and insane scenarios limited only by the imagination of the author.”
“All content created with the Developer Tools can then be shared and downloaded via the Steam Workshop platform,” announced the studio. ”To showcase more advanced capabilities of the editor, additional in-depth tutorial videos will be released soon.”
They plan to ”regularly expand and update” the dev tools to help the community access even more of the game, and to fuel even crazier and ambitious mods in the future. Techland would like as much feedback from mod creators on their official forums.
