MMO Neverwinter’s Elemental Evil module has been pushed back a couple of weeks by Cryptic Studios - rather than releasing in March, as was initially predicted, it will now launch on April 7.
Once again tying in Neverwinter’s ongoing storyline with that of the pen and paper D&D RPG, Elemental Evil brings back the beloved ranger Minsc, of Baldur’s Gate fame, along with his trusty space hamster Boo.
”Our Neverwinter team wants to ensure that we deliver our promise of a high quality expansion, and in order to do so, we need a few more weeks to fine tune the Neverwinter: Elemental Evil experience. Consequently, we have made the decision to delay the launch of Neverwinter: Elemental Evil to April 7,” writes Neverwinter’s executive producer Rob Overmeyer.
Elemental Evil follows on from the wrapped-up Tyranny of Dragons event, and like that expansion it introduces a brand new character class - the Oathbound Paladin. These guys offer both tanking and healing. Alongside the goody-goody new class comes a level cap raise, from 60 to 70, and a bunch of new content including loot, dungeons, quests and more.
The bad guys this time around are a bucnh of evil cultists who seek to harness the power of earth, ice, fire and water. Honestly, if it’s not dragons it’s something else, isn’t it?
