has a lot of in mind for its open world survival sim Rust, including 'signal grenades' for calling in invaluable air-drops, new locations to visit... and candle hats.
Yes, for some reason the best way to explore the developer's bleak, desperate vision of the future at night is to strap a big candle to the top of your head. And no, I'm not quite sure why either.
“You either love the candle hat or you hate it,” writes designer Craig Pearson. “Either way, you probably hate it going dark when you swap away from your torch at night. And we can all probably agree that this would definitely work in real-life, so there’s no need to question that. Implementing the candle hat wasn’t trivial. We didn’t really have any systems in place for clothes to be functional like this. Now we do, so we can start work on some other stuff.”
Luckily, impractical head-wear isn't the only thing players can look forward to. Also incoming are the very satisfying headshot sound from Legacy, the original version of the game, and a new weapon wheel that allows you to select different ammo for your weapon on the fly.
That's not all of course, but listing every thing Facepunch has planned would take forever. I recommended you head here and check out theif you're a enthusiast. There's no exact information on when all this will be added to the game, but new content's being thrown in pretty regularly, so keep your eyes peeled.
