Mortal Kombat is a series that’s become famous for its cross-IP characters (Kratos, Freddy Krueger), and if recent rumours are to be believed that trend’s set to continue in Mortal Kombat X.
Everyone’s favourite spinal cord remover the Predator will apparently star in NetherRealm’s upcoming brawler, and he’ll be bringing along a friend.
Videogamer reports that a DLC pack set for release in June will include the bad-tempered alien and Colonel Al Dillon, the CIA character played by Carl Weathers in the classic 1987 action film. Apparently Weathers has offered his likeness for use in the game.
Not only has NetherRealm done this sort of thing before, Mortal Kombat 2011 starred God of War’s Kratos and Nightmare On Elm Street’s Freddie Krueger, but series creator Ed Boon enthusiastically retweeted an image of the Predator facing off against franchise regular Scorpion on Twitter last year. Seems that might have been prophetic.
Mortal Kombat X is out on PC and consoles this April 14.
