Film production company Bad Robot, currently putting the finishing touches on Star Wars: Episode VII, has teamed up with Valve and Escalation Studios to create a new game mode for Team Fortress 2.
Yes, that is rather an odd development, isn’t it? Called Pass Time, the new mode is essentially a spin on American Football, with both teams trying to grab a ball from the centre of the map and touch it down in the opponent’s area. It’s currently in Beta, and you can test it out by selecting ‘Play Beta Maps’ in TF2’s menu.
“PASS Time marks Bad Robot’s first foray into rapidly iterative content,” writes Valve, “and they’re really excited to get feedback on their beta so they can work with the TF community to evolve the game. This is a new way of doing things for them, and they’re looking forward to working with you to see how it grows over time.”
