The latest trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain sets up the game’s biggest mystery, which we can only hope will be solved by the time the credits roll on Hideo Kojima’s final game in the stealth-action series.
How exactly did the idealistic, honourable soldier Snake become Big Boss, one of the most feared mercenary leaders in the world?
Watching the footage makes me feel incredibly nostalgic, so it’s a shame that as a PC player I’ve pretty much got no way to play any of the games from the series’ impressive history. Then again, it’s still a bit of a surprise that The Phantom Pain is making its way to the platform, so perhaps I should just shut up and be grateful.
Kojima is currently editing one last pre-launch trailer before the game drops this September 1.
