The team at Creative Assembly has been showing off more of the upcoming Total War: Attila, this time looking at the game’s one-off historical battles rather than the full campaign.
In the latest episode of the studio’s Rally Point series, CA’s James Given takes on the mighty Huns with his Roman legions in the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains.
Though Attila’s historical battles will offer similar challenges in previous Total War games, Creative Assembly says the new versions will be more dynamic affairs, with enemy generals trying out different approaches and responses rather than relying on the same trick. They might head off to defend or secure a completely different area of the map in two separate games.
Before the action kicks off around the seven minute mark, Attila designer Simon Mann briefly discusses the six biggest challenges in the upcoming game, from besieging unique, heavily defended cities such as Rome and Constantinople, to trying to survive as the beleaguered Western Roman Empire.
Total War: Attila is set for release on February 17. Check out our recent preview to see what we thought of our hands-on session with the game.
