Snowy post-apocalyptic survival RPG Impact Winter has been given the thumbs up on Steam Greenlight, meaning Jacob Soloman’s 30 day ordeal leading a group of survivors will arrive on the platform in 2016.
Set 8 years after ‘The Catastrophe’ on an asteroid collision, the world is ravaged by heavy snow. We must do what we can for our group that’s holed up in a remote church. Thankfully we’ve got a robotic sidekick.
The outside world is known as ‘The Void’ for its desolate landscape of snow, and many things lie buried beneath it all for us to discover and explore for supplies. It’s a non-linear sandbox and full of dangers. We’ll have to set up camp if we’re too far from the church, and radio our friends to stay in contact. We can also upgrade our little base, hunt wildlife and trade with nomads.
A robotic companion called Ako-Light follows us around and is equipped with some very useful abilities, but we have to be careful it doesn’t run out of energy or we have to lug it back to camp. Dynamic Story Events will also keep things fresh and throw us a few curve balls.
