inXile Entertainment says that work on its Planescape Torment spiritual successor Torment: Tides of Numenera won’t be affected by the recently announced Bard’s Tale 4.
That’s because the studio is splitting up its staff into teams that will work on both of the upcoming titles, as well as the already released Wasteland 2.
The developer explains that it utilises a “1.5 team system”, with one team working on its main project (in this case Torment), and a smaller team continuing to work on existing titles and very early pre-production on future projects.
“Just as Torment’s preproduction had no impact on Wasteland 2,” writes Torment project lead Kvin Saunders, “this project has no influence on Torment’s production because different people are involved. The Bard’s Tale IV is in its very early stages, with some technical research being performed along with early design work on things like the storyline, combat system, dungeon design, etc.”
inXile won’t be revealing more about The Bard’s Tale 4 for a while, but the developers encourage fans to share thoughts and ideas on the forums or on the company’s Facebook page.
