We've known about it for quite some time, but with the first official trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront's final DLC pack just releasing, we're in a better position to know what to look forward to on December 6.
If you're a season pass holder, at least. For those who were willing to throw a down-payment at EA for their future DLC, you'll be able to enjoy the Rogue One: Scarif tie-in update before seeing the movie. For anyone else, however, you'll be waiting until a week after the film's launch to get involved.
"In Rogue One: Scarif, players can experience all-new epic battles and content inspired by the upcoming film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," said EA. "Two new playable heroes, Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic join the battle, four new maps all set in the tropical jungles and beaches of Scarif are introduced, and a new multi-stage game mode with space and ground combat makes its debut."
Don't go expecting a new Battlefield title any time soon, EA likely isn't going to put one out for a few years.
Taking place within the timeframe of the original trilogy, the Rouge One: Scarif DLC pack will drop you into some of the film's skirmishes leading up to the the side-story events of A New Hope. There's a "multi-stage game mode" coming too, but EA still have yet to detail what exactly that is.
Likely not following suite with Ubisoft's plan to extend a popular shooter with a second year DLC plan, this will be the last major content pack coming to Star Wars: Battlefront. The next will be another full game likely arriving in time for Star War: Episode VIII toward the end of next year.
