The first expansion to Hearts of Iron IV, the World War II grand strategy game from Paradox Development Studios, has finally received a release date. The Together for Victory expansion puts the British Dominions and Commonwealth at its center stage and will be the model for future content additions to the game.
Various new changes and additions have been made in the expansion including the likes of a new autonomy System so that subject states are not merely puppets but instead have a wide range of actions available and can even work towards independence. New national focuses have been added to countries to help them feel more unique.
One of the most important changes that also works in harmony with some of the others is that countries now have alternate history options, giving players more freedom than ever. It means you can lead a communist revolt in South Africa, turning them against the Allies or make Canada a fascist state. This will mean that players will not only have more options than before but more unique emergent gameplay elements will begin to take shape during any given campaign.
The new expansion is set for release on December 15th and with a host of new features bundled in, it looks like the first expansion to Hearts of Iron IV is looking to start off on the right foot. The game will be priced at $14.99 at major digital retailers, including the Paradox Store.
