As part of their E3 press conference, EA spoke about their future plans with the Star Wars IP. While none of their announcement were surprises, they did reaffirm their release schedule, reveal some footage, and confirm a big rumor.
That big rumor was the next Battlefront game, which is now officially due to release in 2017. It’s set to expand on the original’s features, including content from the new films.
They also reiterated their two previously known projects. The Visceral Games title, a story-driven adventure written by former Uncharted lead Amy Hennig is due for release in 2018, and a brief bit of footage can be seen in the behind-the-scenes video below. Respawn Entertainment’s take on Star Wars will be a third-person action-adventure that we’re unlikely to hear much more about anytime soon.
