As of 7pm CET today, the new first-person shooter which is based upon Games Workshop’s Spack Hulk board game titled Space Hulk Deathwing will be released. After being delayed an extra week by developer Streum On Studio and publisher Focus Home Interactive, fans of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise can finally get their hands on the new FPS.
The game is inspired by the Space Hulk board game in which a terminator squad of Space Marines, battle their way through a space hulk which is a giant amalgamation of derelict ships and try to survive against the deadly genestealer tyrannid swarms. Deathwing places players in the role of a Dark Angels Librarian, a powerful pysker and warrior who must go through the space hulk to find a lost dark angels ship.
The game comes complete with a co-op multiplayer experience so you can experience the story and a harder challenge with friends at your side. Players can level up in multiplayer to unlock a variety of iconic weapons from plasma cannons to the powerful thunder hammer.
The single player side contains nine-story driven chapters with large levels filled with claustrophobic ship corridors and an atmospheric level design. The story itself was co-written by Black Library author and Dark Angels specialist Gav Thorpe and should please fans of the universe and tabletop.
