Respawn Entertainment have been out gathering good faith from expectant fans of Titanfall 2 which is launching on October 28th. CEO Vince Zampella announced that the day one patch will only be 88MB which has been well-received news by players.

At a time where many games launch with huge day one patches that can not only eat up GB’s of hard drive space but also often change mechanics last minute showing that often the product was not finished. Respawns announcement seems to indicate that the new Titanfall is in a ready state with the majority of its polishing complete.
The lack of a large, game-changing day one patch could be an indicator of good things. The first is that the developers are not only ready, but they have faith in the product they are launching and don’t feel the need to keep tinkering. From the consumer perspective, it could also show that the game may run well, if all its polishing and optimizations have already been completed before launch.
Titanfal 2 could potentially have a smooth launch although, games with online modes are sure to be put to the test in the first 48 hours. The new game also has a new focus on a story campaign, something which there was an outcry for after the first game felt very barebones in that regard. With only a few days until launch, only time will tell if Titanfall 2 can overcome it’s predecessors downfalls.
