The sci-fi interplanetary first-person survival game No Man’s Sky may be delayed until either July or August, according to reports. No Man’s Sky release date was scheduled for June 21st for PC and PlayStation 4, but judging by an image posted by a GameStop worker, a confirmation of the delay may be imminent.
No Man’s Sky, developed by UK-based team Hello Games, promises to create an infinite amount of worlds for players to explore. Each planet in the game is supposed to have unique fauna and flora, but most hands on impressions from other websites have all been set planets. The developers haven’t given a lot of critics the ability to explore the game for a length of time without having created a level for them beforehand, almost defeating the purpose of the game.
The source of this information comes from Kotaku. Kotaku were informed by two different people – the first was simply referred to as being a “reliable Kotaku source”. The second source comes from a GameStop employee, who has provided photographic evidence suggesting the game has in fact been delayed.
Please remember this information has not been confirmed by either Hello Games or Sony, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find out the game has been delayed. There doesn’t seem to be much of a game in No Man’s Sky, though this may not be a problem as you are primarily supposed to explore. Other critics have complained about the fact that most people have never seen a bad No Man’s Sky level, which may simply be down to the procedurally generated levels being perfect, but we very much doubt this.
