Released shortly after the Xbox One version, Quantum Break's PC version - featured on the Windows 10 store - was seemingly put together as an afterthought.
Though Microsoft have since committed to avoiding the performance woes brought on through its Windows 10 Store gaming platform (With Forza Horizon 3 being a prime example of a well-handled title) the upcoming Steam release of Remedy's time-handling shooter will allegedly take more than a current cream-of-the-crop to max out. If shaky wording by the game's community manager is anything to go by.
Replying to a performance question over the on the official Steam page, a Remedy representative said " ...even with one GTX 1080 and the right settings, you should be able to get an enjoyable experience out of the game".
While not exactly going as far to say a single GTX 1080 will or won't max out the game's graphical settings, fans and press alike have taken this to meaning Nvidia's current top-end GPU still isn't strong enough to max out the game's graphical sliders.
Though the lack of multi-GPU support will likely dash the hopes of getting a decent framerate for those running dual-card setups with older boards, if even those with the current high-end GPU can't hope to max out the title, others are rightfully worried about just how their experience with the game will be.despite the Steam version being created to dodge the performance issues raised by the Windows Store version.
The title unlocks through <a href-"http://store.steampowered.com/app/474960">Steam this evening</a>. We'll just have to wait and see as the user reviews and forum posts pour in either for or against the game's new lick of paint.
