Ahead of his appearance on the <a href-"https://www.youtube.com/c/Gameslice?sub_confirmation=1">Live with Youtube Gaming</a> show headed by Geoff Keighley later today, Rod Fergusson introduces the first 20 minutes of PC-bound sequel Gears of War 4 before showing off Horde Mode on this evening's show.
Releasing in under 2 weeks, Gears of War 4 is the latest title to be part of Microsoft's ongoing initiative to release all first-party Xbox One games with a well-optimized PC version bundled - and vice-versa. Though Gears of War: Ultimate Edition - a remastering of the original title - did make it to PC much like the original did shortly after its 2006 Xbox 360 release, Gears of War 4 is the first sequel to land on the platform.
The first 20 minuses of the bro-shooter serves as both a tutorial and a look-back at the lengthy story of the franchise's past. Taking place 25 years after the apparent conclusion of the war against the Locust horde Sera, the title sees Marcus Fenix act as a supporting character alongside his now-of-age son with partner - and former supporting member - Anya Stroud.
Gears of War 4 releases on October 11th, with 'Ultimate Edition' players gaining access to the multiplayer modes 4 days earlier.
