Reaching Rank 15 on Steam Greenlight in just a few days, it seems the demand for maritime shooters is stronger than most would have thought. Anvil Games have tempted the appetites of those looking for a good old shoot em' up with Holdfast: Nations at War.
Billed as a multiplayer shooter, Holdfast: Nations at War is set across the great Napoleonic Era. Living up to the expectations of such an era, bayonets are everywhere, and blasting each other with cannons will likely be a good chunk of the charm.
Paying close attention to the details, both land and naval battles will be represented with historically accurate equipment from the castle walls the ships being boarded by your enemies. Though it's difficult to tell through the trailer, this plays out as both a third and first-person shooter with Navy and Army enlistment being split across different multiplayer game modes.
Now Is "Not The Right Time" To Talk About A Release Date For Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord
Likely reminding some of the Mount & Blade franchise, Holdfast: Nations at War involves a health dose of firing cannons across the ocean, storming the frontlines with a musket and swashbuckling aboard the decks of an impressive sea vessel. Rank up past the role of a Captain and extend your skill into various post-launch competitive events.
Though we don't know whether it'll release in the first or second half of the year, Holdfast: Nations at War looks set to pass the harsh word of Steam Greenlight if the current ranking and community comments are anything to go by. But you can speed up the process by voting yourself if it's your sort of thing.
