If you fired up Steam this morning to get some Resident Evil 7 in before the sun goes down, you probably noticed a stealth update forcing its way down your internet tubes.
Though there were no details to speak of earlier this morning, Capcom has shed some light on just what exactly changed a little later on.
It's a tiny one; but as they say - every little helps. While we can't say any of these issues made themselves apparent in out review run, they must have been present enough for Capcom to bust out the bug squasher in record time. In the off possibility that you came across the inability to save your progress after turning off Steam Cloud and deleting the locally stored save file, that should no longer prove an issue going forward.

In a slight aid to performance, those who turned HDR off to boost the frames on lower-specced machines may have noticed it turning itself back on after re-launching the game on the next session. Only happening if the game was closed when in full-screen mode, this one has been ironed out. Likely just an issue with the setting not saving its way into config file upon close, it shouldn't be a problem any longer.
And that's about it, actually. Two very small tweaks to some inconvenient issues. Again, performance on our aged review rig seemed more than ok in the end, but that doesn't mean the game is without its problems. It's fairly well optimized at the minute, but there's every opportunity to fine-tune it further, it seems. Interested? Grab it through Steam.
