Need a bit of cheering up this fine Monday afternoon? Ditch your after-work TV plans and give Xenonauts 2 a try. There's a brand-new demo available through GOG.
Demos are something we rarely come across these days. Once the days of shareware and magazine demo discs went the way of the dodo, we were only given trickles of demo content through official downloads and company marketplaces.
Once Early Access became a viable option for developers to rake in some extra cash and free labour for those hoping to get their hands on a title far earlier than they anticipated, the days of the demo were numbered. Thankfully, they're still around. Somewhat.
Announced Just Over A Year Ago Now, Xenonauts 2 Is Goldhawk Interactive's Second Go At Old-School XCOM Combat
But just as surprising as that announcement to release time-frame being injected with a 2-year long Early Access period, Goldhawk Interactive have surprised Xenonauts fans by throwing out a demo of its sequel before its inevitable Early Access debut.
The demo itself acts a gameplay and stability test before the wider, paid, Early Access period kicks off at a later phase - by which time the demo itself will cease to exist. Interested players will need to download GOG Galaxy to their systems to grab the demo in question with it being strictly single-player. There's no mention of system requirements, though, so you'll just have to try your luck.
