I am truly spellbound by the splendor of this game, hooray to Nival for bringing back Heroes of Might and Magic.
Ahistory at its finest.
Corporations, espionage, scenarios, mods, empires, leaders, units, and wonders - Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is one impressive expansion.
The first 30-40 turns always does it for me - claiming the land, discovering other civs, choosing your tech path, battling lions, and so on.
Remember how disappointed you were with Civ3: Play the World? So what happens with Conquests? Does it make it through as a worthy expansion? Read what Canker had to say about it.

If you're a fan of Dread Lords, then this expansion should absolutely be on your list to pick up as soon as possible.
Civilization has returned in all its glory, in a form that we truly feel will stand the test of time...
The universe is transformation
For over 20 years, I've sought the perfect turn-based game. I've not yet found the perfect turn-based game. I never will find it. But every so often, I find a game that I like enough to play more than once.
