Instead of leveling up regularly, it introduces a new arcade style mechanic where you level up by hitting enemies and lose levels by taking damage. If you can maintain and continue to knock enemies around, your level, stats, weapon quality, and more will increase. Take too many hits and you'll get knocked down a peg or two.
