Mike Griffith believes the PS3 is going to rocket past Microsoft’s next-gen hardware this year in terms of growth. The Wii is the pride of the pack though.
He reckons the 360 will grow by another 6-7 million units while the PS3 should manage 8 million. He predicts the Wii at 15 million and handhelds at 24 million. Alright, showoff.
These hardware growths are Activision’s expectations for the North American and European markets. Griffith didn’t split the handheld numbers so DS and PSP seem to have formed some kind of tag team then?
As of September 30th the installed based for videogame hardware in both NA and EU stands at 291 million units. That includes current and next-gen, plus the portable gizmos.
