Once more, again, certain fragments of the Diablo community have riled themselves up with what could be described as tenuous deduction of championship proportions.
A new icy splash artwork is now being accused of fostering hidden Diablo II runes. Plus the possibility of a new game called ‘Hydra’ from more tenuous linkage.
An artists website, one who works for Blizzard on environment and scenery, has an empty section on his personal concept site labelled Hydra. The front page of his site came with an under-construction message that said the site would re-launch on June 28, the day that Blizzards Worldwide Invitational starts in Paris - dun dun dun.
Now the message has changed from June to ”July 2008” - something the fans have jumped on.
The most amusing development thus far has to be the fine combing of the new ice splash at the official Blizzard website, as reported by Kotaku. As its ‘icy’ the chance are extremely high it’s in fact linked to the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion - but that would be just too simple now wouldn’t it?
