During a fiscal call an executive for Ubi said they’re honing their assassination skills on a sequel to the much acclaimed Assassin’s Creed.
The game is expected to arrive during fiscal 2010 for the company so anywhere from April 1st ‘09 to March 31st, 2010. Analyst Pachter reckons its set ”several hundred years” later.
While refusing to speculate on a more precise date for release the executive did state that ”we are working hard on the product”. This is technically the first time Ubisoft has acknowledged the existence of a sequel to the public.
Assassin’s Creed was ground breaking for its sense of freedom to explore three cities set during the crusades of 1191; Acre, Damascus and Jerusalem. Despite the war between Christians and Muslims raging on the game itself was never about religion or picking sides.
Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has revealed he believes the sequel to be ”several hundred years in the future” from 1191, more specifically he thinks ”sometime in the 1700s.” He added the period of the French Revolution could be a likely candidate during his GT Bonus Round interview.
As long as it gets here it could be set in the swinging sixties for all I care. We need you back Altair, stabbing a guy in the foot before slicing upward just isn’t any fun without you.
