Cyberpunk sci-fi author Richard Morgan has signed with publisher EA to pen a script "for a particular game" already in the pipeline he reveals. The Altered Carbon author also lets slip, without violating his NDA, that he's to "consult on three" different games. Crysis 2 is a possibility. "About a year ago, and out of the blue, I got an e-mail from one John Miles, an enforcer (okay, not really) for the British arm of EA Games. He had a proposition for me, was I interested? Interested, of course, was putting it mildly," blogged Morgan. The proposition: "...was I interested in coming aboard with EA to write and script for a particular game project they had going, with a view to other game projects thereafter, and if so could I be in Berlin in a week's time?" "That was a year ago. Now, without breaking any Non-Disclosure Agreements, I can cautiously reveal that I've been pulled in to consult on three separate games," he continued. So far his collected air miles circumstantially link him with developer Crytek. Morgan could be consulting with the newly acquired Free Radical, now known as Crytek UK, as they're exploring new IP and not tapping into anything established they say. Frankly there's too much possibility where the sci-fi author is bring utlizied. As he knows cyberpunk sci-fi, perhaps he could be helping out with the planned revival of the Syndicate series, which has been rumoured to be under Starbreeze's roof...? Source: Shacknews |
