Massive Entertainment’s Soviet Assault expansion to their critically acclaimed World in Conflict real-time strategy only has PC in mind for now.
Ubi has refused to be drawn into specifics as to whether it could arrive on consoles, as was originally intended under Sierra. At least they’re ”brimming with great ideas” for RTS they say.
”Our priority is to the work, excellent work that Massive has done on World in Conflict: Soviet Assault for PC,” a Ubi rep tells VG247.
”The game was ready to go and of excellent quality and were are excited to make it available to World in Conflict fans. For the console version, we have not announced anything official at this time.” World in Conflict: Soviet Assault takes players on a journey through the eyes of a Soviet officer battling the West.
Asked if Ubi can see a stable future for the console RTS they replied they’re ”committed to the RTS segment - it’s a great genre that is open for creativity and innovation.”
”We have no official announcement to make at this time but rest assured that our teams are enthusiastic about RTS and brimming with great ideas.”
Ultimately the REAL question here should be where’s World in Conflict 2? We must have it comrade!
