Dhani Harrison, son of Beatle George Harrison, has revealed in an interview that the upcoming Rock Band game will have ”new” material.
He says the game is ”historically accurate” and details his pivotal role in getting the project going. Despite at times causing ”a real headache, “ it was the ”most enjoyable work” ever.
”I did everything I could to not be a musician,” Harrison told Billboard.com. ”I went to university (Brown), I worked as a designer, I competed in Olympic sport (rowing)…and I ended up being a musician. It’s in the DNA, I guess.”
The Beatles: Rock Band will be released this September 9th, and by Harrison’s own account will be featuring ”stuff that has never been heard, never been released,” but he wouldn’t elaborate on specifics.
”I took the project to Apple and sort of convinced everybody to have a presentation,” he continued. ”My job description is…being enthusiastic. We’ve been working on it for the past two years. This is the first one that is going to be totally, historically accurate.”
”It’s been a real headache, but it’s been the most enjoyable work I’ve done in my life.”
Are you looking forward to jamming with The Beatles, who don’t forget were ”more popular than Jesus”?
