The developers over at Creative Assembly are nearly ready to go live with their latest update for Empire: Total War, adding big support for multi-cores.
The team have been working on the game’s ”multi-threading” and made ”many optimisations” for singe-cores too. Gamers ”will see huge benefits” through land and sea frame rates.
”We’ve worked on implementing the multi-threading in the game for multi-core processors and made many optimisations that will also help increase performance on single core machines,” blogged Creative, detailing the features of update 1.3.
”Players will see huge benefits through increased frame rates particularly in land and naval battles.” This update will also add new units to the game, sprucing up the battlefield.
”14 Free Units have been included in this patch, adding a large amount of diversity to the playable factions and the armies the player will face. These units replace ‘generic’ equivalents giving each faction a unique identity on the battlefield.”
Update 1.3 is expected to go live via Steam on June 22nd for Empire: Total War.
