Publisher Codemasters has said they hope to update the game and give out new content at the same time for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which is by October end.
Their intention ”is to align” the two to hopefully do the”whole thing in one.” For the developer it’s ”not a lot of fuss” to work on new content, in fact it’s ”actually quite easy” to do; open-ended.
”Our intention is to align with the first DLC pack that’s coming out as well, which is due around the end of October,” Codemasters producer Sion Lenton told Eurogamer.
”Hopefully we’ll do the whole thing in one,” he added. ”It’s quite open-ended,” referring to new content possibilities, ”it’s not a lot of fuss for us to make new content - it’s actually quite easy for us to get it out there, with regards to things like levels, game modes, etc.”
”The other thing we actually like to look at is getting some new equipment in there as well.”
Vehicle use is another area they’d like to ‘ramp up’ in future updates to the military simulator, because ”there are people who expected to be able to use them more than they can”, noted Lenton. Keep an eye out over the coming days of October for that stuff!
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 6th.
