The 24-player online shooter Battlefield 1943 will come to consoles first, and then launch an assault on desktops months later.
Priced at $15, the DICE developed game includes a remake of BF1942’s Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima - the major difference being entirely destructible environments.
”We want to offer gamers the most accessible online shooter experience and the best value found in any premium download title,” said Gordon Van Dyke, producer.
The game is only available via download with the PC version expected to arrive in September, meaning it just stays within range of its previously announced summer release schedule.
