Blizzard are going all out on the power of their map-maker for StarCraft II, in fact they showed three custom made maps from developers that weren’t quite RTS.
Actually they weren’t RTS at all, they were an Action-RPG first person shooter and a top down space shooter; it’s incredibly versatile. Premium creations will be peddled for monies.
”One was a third-person action-RPG, another was an old-school, top-down Galaga-style space shooter, and the third featured a custom-made mega-Zerg. Custom user interfaces and things of the like were used,” reports VG247.
A panel at BlizzCon showed the power of their little map-making creation, and just what you can do with it if you put in the time and creativity. The first person shooter was based around the cancelled StarCraft: Ghost project. Entire games could be whipped up from this.
Check out the clip below for the custom maps from Blizzard developers, which they didn’t spend much time on apparently.
