Sims creator Will Wright has said the unveiling of services like OnLive could really provide great things for developers and publishers in the future.
Despite all this though it wouldn’t change how he approaches game development, saying he doesn’t care ”if it’s Xbox, PC or Cloud.” OnLive has got a lot of tongues wagging this week.
”In the future, if people are really browsing these things, it’s a great opportunity,” Wright told VG247. Asked if Cloud would alter his methods he replied, ”no, not really.”
”With hardware I really don’t care if it’s Xbox, PC or Cloud.” The impending issues with OnLive, and possible likewise services, would be the burden placed upon a nation’s Internet infrastructure - many just don’t have the capacity in place.
Here’s my amateur analyst prediction: The Cloud-platform won’t be impacting gamers in a meaningful way for at least 8 to 10 years. We just love our rigs too much damn it!
