The latest Splinter Cell: Conviction was going to release this year but Ubisoft joined the swarm of publishers who panicked at the thought of a Christmas crush, so it delayed.
Now Sam Fisher’s new escapade shares a February 2010 window with BioShock 2. Ubi call Conviction a ”really strong” title, and trust their analysts that February is perfect for launch.
”We’ve got a really strong title,” executive producer Alexandre Parizeau told CVG. ”Our business analysts have done their job and they’re confident the date is good, so I trust them.”
”It’s my job to deliver a good game and it’s their job to make sure that we have the proper release date,” he added. The game was first announced back in 2007 with fans plunged into despair when Ubisoft came out defending their choice to effectively ‘redo’ the game.
The pressure is on, can Ubisoft make good on their Splinter Cell heritage?
