In fact the Wii tumbled down the stairs from June’s 422.5k to last month’s 253.9k. Since the slim Xbox 360 in June, 900k have sold in the US.
The Xbox 360 sales for July only declined a pinch from June, unlike everyone else who fell down a few ladder rungs, especially the Wii. The PS3 is down from 304.8k to 214.5k. Here’s the US July hardware league table from the NPD figures:
1. Xbox – 443.5k
-
DS – 398.4k
-
Wii – 253.9k
-
PS3 – 214.5k
-
PSP – 84k
Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 both saw their July 2010 numbers up from last year’s. Not since Halo 3’s mega launch has the Microsoft console led the US hardware sales. So what’s the league for total US population out of the platforms?
1. DS – 3,469,100
-
Wii – 2,738,800
-
Xbox 360 – 2,339,200
-
PS3 – 1,805,500
-
PSP – 683,300
