Milo and his family move from London to New England, and Kate is in fact his dog. Molyneux says most of Milo ”is a trick” but a ”trick that works.”
Using Kinect the player becomes Milo’s friend as he’s just moved with his family from London to New England in the US. ”No people’s Milo can be the same”, noted Molyneux who revealed decisions made will shape his personality, reports Wired.
The demonstrator had several conversations with Milo though ”responses were mostly a little generic, it was still tonally sound – he never said anything incongruous.” The tutorial for Milo & Kate lasts about 45 mins to an hour said Molyneux.
The game then shifts to something less linear or ‘on rails’ as it were, where the player can take Milo on ”more, darker, adventures.” Apparently the mind of young Milo isn’t located on disc but ”in the cloud,” meaning the more people interact with him the smarter his responses will become overtime - and he’ll pick up on more accents and slang.
There’s no hint of a release date for Milo & Kate though this year is certainly out. Perhaps holiday 2011 might be in sight for Lionhead Studios and Microsoft.
