PlayStation Move ”shouldn’t” impede or otherwise affect Killzone 3’s multiplayer either, said Guerrilla’s senior multiplayer designer; playfield level.
“It shouldn’t at all,” said Dan Nunn of Guerrilla, asked if Move will affect how the game gets played online, paired with 3D. ”Basically, if you want to play it with Move, here you go. Got a new tool? Try it out, play through it. But if you like the SIXAXIS, go to SIXAXIS.”
”3D will not affect your performance at all,” he continued. “We make sure we’re not sacrificing anything. If it sacrifices something, we don’t put it out. So if it were a sacrifice, we’d say no, you can’t have it.”
”But 3D you play it, 2D you play it, no matter what, you have the exact same gameplay experience with no loss of framerate.” The issue for many games using 3D, or having it patched in, is the loss in framerate. Those built from the ground up taking the technology in mind though are less susceptible to performance sacrifices.
Killzone 3 releases exclusively on PS3 February 2011.
